We are a co-housing project based in Sheffield working together to respect each other and our environment.
Visit our updates page here for our latest news and information.
We purchased the leasehold on our site from Sheffield City Council and a loan from the Ecology Building Society helped finance the construction. We signed a build contract with local design and build company, Oakworth Homes and completed our build in February 2024. We continue to benefit from expert professional support to guide us through this complex process. Our solar panels are by Sheffield Renewables and our air-source-heat pumps were installed by Midlands Renewables.
We wouldn’t have got this far without the financial and emotional support from our Supporters – thank you all so much! You can still offer to support us financially or you can choose specifically to support our capacity to offer affordable rentals by contacting our partner Share Instead for details of what they have on offer : shareinstead@gmail.com
It’s not too late to join us and add your energies to building the multi generational diverse and lively community we are hoping to create. Contact us by email or text as soon as possible if you are interested in what we have to offer. We currently have just one remaining unit for sale – a lovely ground floor 1 bedroom flat with balcony overlooking the Loxley Valley. We are operating a waiting pool for people interested in other units, so do get in touch if you’d like up to date availability.
We have always wanted to offer affordable accommodation within the project and we are very excited about our partnership with Share Instead Housing Cooperative . This has given us the opportunity to offer rentals in three apartments which will be managed by Share Instead. As of September 2023 there are currently no vacancies for membership of the coop. If you are interested in adding your support to our specific offer of flats for affordable rent you are invited to find out about supporting our partner Share Instead directly.https://cohousing.org.uk/property-listings/
As part of our commitment to being good neighbours and active participants in the local community we occasionally run drop ins with local residents and community reps to meet us. We are now actively engaged in the newly forming Friends of Spider Park Group. Keep an eye out for future dates of meetings on this page or follow us on Facebook.
Please email us to let us know if the thought of joining or supporting our project appeals to you.
